🔵 Children Educational Development and Empowerment

🟦 Programme Summary
Sunshine Gender Humanitarian and Human Rights Initiative’s Children Educational Development and Empowerment programme in Nigeria ensures every child—including marginalized and vulnerable groups—can access safe, inclusive, quality learning and acquire the skills to thrive. We drive enrollment, attendance, retention, and transition to higher levels, TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training), and skills training, reducing inequalities and improving long-term livelihoods through advocacy, systems strengthening, community mobilization, and learner empowerment.

🟦 Objectives

1️⃣ Return out-of-school children to school and support their retention and completion through family engagement, case management, and targeted assistance (school fees, uniforms, textbooks).
2️⃣ Strengthen education sector planning and policy implementation with Nigerian governments and stakeholders to improve service delivery, accountability, and resource use in line with the National Policy on Education.
3️⃣ Expand access to inclusive, safe learning environments and improve teaching quality in public and private schools across Nigeria’s 36 states and FCT, with a focus on vulnerable children.
4️⃣ Equip learners with foundational, digital, and life skills—problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, communication, collaboration, leadership, and adaptability—and clear pathways to vocational skills and entrepreneurship.
5️⃣ Deliver child rights and values education so children understand bodily autonomy, protection, the right to quality education, peace, respect, honesty, and integrity, while preventing social vices.
6️⃣ Advocate and mobilize resources for child education empowerment—policies, funding, and community support that remove barriers and enable every Nigerian child to learn and thrive.

🔵 Women Training and Empowerment

🟦 Programme Summary
Sunshine Gender Humanitarian and Human Rights Initiative’s Women Training and Empowerment programme in Nigeria challenges harmful norms and expands women’s agency, skills, and economic opportunities. We build confidence, enable informed choice, and support women to start, formalize, and grow livelihoods, poverty reduction, family welfare, inclusive growth, and the SDGs.

🟦 Objectives
1️⃣ Entrepreneurship training: practical business skills (idea development, market research, pricing, marketing, customer service) tailored to local Nigerian markets.
2️⃣ Financial literacy training: budgeting, savings, credit management, mobile/digital payments, and record‑keeping to strengthen household and business finances.
3️⃣ Vocational training: demand‑driven trades and crafts linked to job placement or self‑employment pathways.
4️⃣ Business development coaching and ongoing support: idea viability assessment, business model refinement, mentorship, and post‑empowerment monitoring and evaluation.
5️⃣ Business registration and documents processing: support CAC registration, TIN, bank account opening, and compliance with local regulations.
6️⃣ Provision of business capital: seed grants and linkages to microfinance, cooperatives, and public/private funding.

🔵 Youth Training and Empowerment

🟦 Programme Summary
Sunshine Gender Humanitarian and Human Rights Initiative’s Youth Training and Empowerment program in Nigeria recognizes the power of young people to drive community development and national progress. We build civic participation, skills, leadership, and economic opportunity—improving education outcomes, reducing crime and juvenile delinquency, and enabling youth voices in decision‑making.

🟦 Objectives

1️⃣ Socio‑civic involvement: connect youth to CSOs, community development associations, volunteer programmes, and LGA‑level forums; support youth‑led initiatives and community service.
2️⃣ Knowledge development: deliver literacy, digital, and foundational skills, remedial tutoring (e.g., WAEC/NECO prep), and career guidance with pathways to TVET.
3️⃣ Personal development and entrepreneurship training: provide vocational skills aligned to local market demand, employability training, business basics, and leadership workshops.
4️⃣ Coaching and mentorship: offer one‑to‑one coaching and group mentoring, psychosocial support, and linkages to internships/apprenticeships and career pathways.
5️⃣ Leadership pathways: advocate for youth representation in school boards, community committees, and local governance; run fellowships and bootcamps to build practical leadership.
6️⃣ Financial support: provide seed grants, scholarships/education support, and linkages to microfinance/cooperatives and public/private funding, paired with financial literacy.

🔵 Humanitarian Services


🟦 Programme Summary
Humanitarian Services in Nigeria provide impartial, needs‑based assistance that saves lives, reduces crisis impact, and upholds dignity for vulnerable groups.

🟦 Objectives

1️⃣ Rapid emergency response: immediate lifesaving assistance after disasters or conflict, coordinated and local responders.
2️⃣ Food security and livelihoods: agriculture/fisheries/animal husbandry support, inputs and stabilize household food access.
3️⃣ Health services for mothers, newborns, and children: training, equipment.
4️⃣ Safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH): restore clean water access, ensure water quality, promote hygiene, and basic sanitation.
5️⃣ Disability inclusion and mobility aids: wheelchairs and assistive devices, with rehabilitation, education, and livelihood linkages.
6️⃣ Emergency debt relief and protection: case‑managed debt support to prevent harmful coping and suicide risk, linked to social protection and MHPSS.

🔵 Human Rights and Freedom Advocacy

Sunshine Gender Humanitarian and Human Rights Initiative’s Human Rights and Freedom Advocacy programme speaks truth to power with diplomacy and peace—advancing dignity and rights for people marginalized by oppressive systems. We raise awareness, document violations, support survivors, build community capacity, and drive policy and legal reforms through collaborative networks and clear, accessible communication with authorities and the public.

1️⃣ Increase human rights awareness and literacy among marginalized groups and the wider public.
2️⃣ Support victims through referrals, legal aid partnerships, safeguarding, and dignified case management.
3️⃣ Document and report violations to produce evidence that guides advocacy and policy change.
4️⃣ Advance policy and legal reforms via stakeholder engagement, submissions, and diplomacy-first advocacy.
5️⃣ Build capacity of community leaders, CSOs, and institutions to prevent violations and uphold rights.
6️⃣ Strengthen coalitions and partnerships for knowledge sharing, innovation, and coordinated action.

🔵 Gender Based Violence, Inequality and Social Vices


🟦 Programme Summary
Sunshine Gender Humanitarian and Human Rights Initiative works to eliminate gender-based violence (GBV), inequality, and harmful social practices in Nigeria. Recognizing GBV as a manifestation of entrenched power imbalances, we take a survivor-centered, rights-based approach—preventing violence, raising awareness, supporting survivors, and shifting laws, norms, and systems through education, empowerment, and partnerships.

🟦 Objectives 

1️⃣ Run sustained, inclusive campaigns to reduce and eliminate GBV, inequality, and harmful social practices across all communities and regions of Nigeria.
2️⃣ Empower women and girls across the life course.
3️⃣ Engage men and boys, as well as women and girls, as allies to prevent violence and build healthy, respectful, and equitable relationships.
4️⃣ Provide rapid, survivor-centered response in emergencies, including safe spaces, psychosocial support, medical and legal referrals, and support for prosecution in coordination with authorities.
5️⃣ Advocate for women’s meaningful participation and leadership in decision-making at all levels to advance equality.
6️⃣ Collaborate with local and international women-led and women’s rights organizations to support survivors, amplify awareness, and reduce the social impacts of GBV.

🔵 GOOD GOVERNANCE, PEACE AND SUSTAINABILITY

🟦 Programme Summary
Sunshine Gender Humanitarian and Human Rights Initiative advances inclusive, preventive governance to build resilient, peaceful, and sustainable communities. We promote dialogue and accountability across tribes, religions, and beliefs; track public policies and diplomatically advocate evidence‑based reforms; and integrate environmental sustainability in line with SDG16.

🟦 Objectives 

1️⃣ Strengthen inclusive political processes through open state–society dialogue, participatory constitutional reform, and professional, impartial election management.
2️⃣ Improve responsive, accountable institutions to deliver quality services, deepen decentralization, and enable citizen feedback at federal, state, and local levels.
3️⃣ Prevent and resolve conflict by establishing early‑warning systems, mediation networks, and local peace architectures that foster trust, inclusion, and social cohesion.
4️⃣ Mainstream environmental sustainability by applying safeguards and climate‑risk screening across governance and peace interventions.

🔵 HEALTH PROGRAMME AND PROJECT


🟦 Programme Summary
Health Programmes and Projects in Nigeria improve primary health services, increase prevention and early detection, connect people to care quickly, and deliver school‑based menstrual health and hygiene for girls. We track how many people and schools we reach, how well services work, and the real‑world results—like healthier families and fewer girls missing school.

🟦 Objectives 

1️⃣ Service coverage and reach: expand clinic and community services; track unique people, total consultations, screenings and vaccinations, and the percent of the target population reached in each area.
2️⃣ Preventive care uptake: increase completion of all routine childhood vaccinations; ensure pregnant women attend at least four antenatal care visits; expand adult checks for blood pressure, diabetes, and malaria.
3️⃣ Timely linkage to care: connect people who screen positive to care within seven days, with clear referrals and follow‑up.
4️⃣ Treatment adherence and control outcomes: support at least three months of continued care and improve control of blood pressure, blood sugar, and other agreed health targets.
5️⃣ Client satisfaction and service quality: raise satisfaction scores and strengthen service quality through follow‑up and continuous improvement.
6️⃣ School‑based menstrual health and hygiene for girls: implement in target schools; deliver sessions each term; provide dignity kits and girl‑friendly toilets and water; improve knowledge; reduce period‑related absenteeism; increase attendance during menstruation; and train teachers and peer champions.
